Abstract (EN)
In this study, the removal of Cr+6 from aqueous solution by using boron waste (BW) was studied in a batch system. The effect of initial solution concentration, pH, adsorbent dosage, contact time and temperature on the adsorption capacity of boron waste and activated boron waste were studied. Different kinetic models have been tested to comply with the experimental data and the data were found to be in harmony with the pseudo-second order kinetics. Isotherm studies have shown that monolayer adsorption takes place on the adsorbents. Thermodynamic parameters such as enthalpy, entropy, and Gibb?s free energy changes were also calculated and it was found that the adsorption of Cr+6ion on BW was a spontaneous and exothermic in nature.
