Abstract (EN)
Cancer and tumours have been treated with different types of radiation for many years. In Radiation Therapy, a less dose should be given to patients' healthy tissues as possible and only the diseased tissues have been tried to destroy as much as possible. One way of the treatments for this purpose is Boron Neutron Capture Therapy (BNCT). In this study, suitable neutron sources for Boron Neutron Capture therapy for cancer patients have been discussed. The advantages and disadvantages of these neutron sources have been discussed. For this purpose, nuclear reactor neutron sources, isotopic neutron sources, neutron sources obtained using accelerator and recent developments for BNCT in the world have been evaluated.
