Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, arsenic precipitation from boron mine wastewater with chemicals such as FeCl3, Al2(SO4)3, Ca(OH)2, and Na2S was investigated. With precipitation studies, the amount of arsenic in wastewater was reduced to the values specified in the relevant regulations. It has been determined that arsenic contamination occurring during boric acid production can be prevented with Na2S. It has been observed that arsenic removal with Na2S did not have any adverse effect on boric acid quality. After the arsenic removal, 99.74% purified boric acid was produced. Arsenic removal was carried out using granular ferric hydroxide (GFH) to purify water with water obtained after precipitation. In adsorption studies conducted with GFH, arsenic was removed from arseniccontaminated water with 99.5% efficiency, having an initial arsenic concentration of 1000 μg/L. As a result of equilibrium isotherm studies, it was determined that Freundlich and Langmuir isotherms were more suitable for AsV and AsIII adsorption, respectively. When the adsorption-desorptionregeneration (ADR) cycles of GFH were analyzed, it was observed that there was no decrease in both AsV and AsIII removal efficiency at the end of the fifth cycle. Within this study, suggestions for the solution to the arsenic contamination of our country's most crucial boron facility are presented.
