Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this thesis is to examine what Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) and Credit Default Swaps (CDS), which are investment instruments, are and the differences between them, to Decipher their analysis on the BIST - 100 index and to provide detailed information. The main factor determining the market price in stock exchanges is the supply and demand of investors for securities. In recent years, different alternatives have been developed for investors in the financial markets. One of them, Exchange-traded funds (ETFs), is an investment fund traded on securities markets. They are called funds that reflect the return performance of the asset (stock, bond, etc.) in the basic sense, that is, the commodity. Exchange-traded funds in our country have not seen enough value either. The credit derivatives market, the use of which is increasing day by day in the world and in our country, is gaining great importance in order to protect the investor from the usual risk factor. Credit default swap (Dec), which is among the credit derivative products, can be expressed in the simplest sense as an insurance transaction against credit risk. It is the premium demanded by the insurance company for insuring the debt of a country. In the study, exchange traded funds (ETF) and credit default swaps (CDS) are investigated in detail, their operation, history, advantages and disadvantages, investment funds, investment partners, differences and similarities between them are mentioned, and their effects on the BIST - 100 index are discussed through ARDL bounds test and It is aimed to investigate Hayes Process tests.
