Abstract (EN)

This study aims to examine the relationships among leisure time management, self-control/self-management levels, and leisure-time physical activity constraints of university students with physical disabilities. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach and employed a relational survey model. The sample of the research consisted of a total of 240 university students with physical disabilities, including 97 females and 143 males, who were selected through convenience sampling. Data were collected using a questionnaire form consisting of four sections: the Personal Information Form, the Leisure Time Management Scale, the Self-Control and Self-Management Scale, and the Leisure-Time Physical Activity Constraints Scale (Form for Individuals with Disabilities). In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics as well as difference and correlation analyses were performed. Within the scope of the total dimensions of the scales, the findings indicated a significant negative relationship between participants' age and their perceptions of leisure-time physical activity constraints. The perceptions of leisure-time physical activity constraints were lower among participants who actively engaged in sports compared to those who did not. Significant differences were found in leisure time management according to participants' perceived personal income level (Low>High; Medium>High). In addition, significant differences were identified in perceptions of leisure-time physical activity constraints based on perceived personal income level (Low>Medium; Low>High). Furthermore, a significant difference was found in self-control/self-management according to participants' perceived family income level (Medium>High). Significant differences were also observed in perceptions of leisure-time physical activity constraints according to perceived family income level (Low>Medium; Low>High; Medium>High). Regarding the relationships among the scales, a significant positive relationship was found between participants' self-control/self-management and their perceptions of leisure-time physical activity constraints. No significant relationship was found between leisure time management and perceptions of leisure-time physical activity constraints. A significant positive relationship was identified between participants' self-control/self-management and leisure time management. In conclusion, it can be suggested that as participants' self-control/self-management levels increase, their perceptions of leisure-time physical activity constraints and their leisure time management levels also increase.
