Examination of the relationship between psychological well-being, gender perception and cognitive flexibility in divorced women

In this study, the relationship between the psychological well-being levels of divorced women and their gender perceptions and cognitive flexibility levels was examined. In addition, the psychological well-being levels of divorced women were found to be educational status, perceived socio-economic level, duration of marriage, time since divorce, whether or not they received psychological help after divorce, reason for divorce, type of divorce, employment status, type of accommodation, place of residence and number of children. It was examined whether it differs according to socio-demographic variables such as 213 divorced women aged between 19 and 70 participated in the study. Participants were reached by convinience sampling method. The data collection process was carried out online. The psychological well-being levels of divorced women were measured with the "Psychological Well-Being Scale", their gender perceptions were measured with the "Gender Perception Scale" and their cognitive flexibility levels were measured with the "Cognitive Flexibility Inventory". Demographic information of the participants was collected with the "Sociodemographic Information Form" created by the researcher. In the study, one-way ANOVA and t-test for independent groups were used to determine the difference between the means of the variables. Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient was used to determine the relationship between psychological well-being, gender perception and cognitive flexibility. As a result of the analyzes, it was determined that there was a moderately significant positive relationship between the psychological well-being levels of divorced women and their gender perceptions and cognitive flexibility levels. In addition, it was determined that the psychological well-being levels of divorced women differ significantly according to their educational status, perceived socio-economic level, reason for divorce, type of divorce, employment status, type of housing and place of residence. It was determined that there was no significant difference according to the variables of whether or not they received psychological help or not and the number of children.
