The Bosbogaz and Gullabi

Second Constitutionalist Period is a time when political, social and economic revolutions occured in the Ottoman Empire. This era was also fruitful for the history of press and Ottoman humor publishing developed then. The main hub of this thesis Bosbogaz and Gullabi was recorded as the first humor newspaper and publication by Turgut Ceviker. However, there have not been a unique study examining it, yet. This thesis focuses on the issues of the newspaper in question between 6th August 1908 – 14th December 1908, published by Huseyin Rahmi (Gurpınar) (one of the leading authors in Turkish literature). By doing so, it is aimed both to give samples for humor publications and to bring out the developments during the post-Constitutionalist Period II.
