Abstract (EN)

We are aware that in the world Turkish Teaching has been increased recently. Turkish is taught in almost every continent of the world. The Ottoman Empire had a great impact on the Balkan countries, especially Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the past, teaching in Bosnia and Herzegovina was done in Turkish language, so the Turkish Language in Bosnia and Herzegovina has existed since ancient times. After the Ottoman Empire left the Balkan Region, the Turkish language also disappeared, but this influence still exists in daily life, culture and traditions, especially in Bosnian language. There are aproximately 9.000 words passed fromTurkish language to Bosnian language. These two nations had begun to strenghten the bond between them in recent years. People started to visit Turkey very often, they started to watch Turkish series and they started to research Turkish culture detaily altought Turkish culture is not foreign for them. Therefore interest in Tukish language has begun to increase. People in Bosnia and Herzegovina have oportunity to learn English and German as well. This oportunity is offered to them in primary schools high schools, faculties and private courses. The aim of thi study is to research the teaching of Turkish language in faculties and schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Department of Turkish Language and Literatüre was first opened at the University of Sarajevo in 1950"s. Later the University of Tuzla and Zenca University opened this department. Mostar University has also opened this department. In this study we conducted interviews with the professors working at the University of Sarajevo and Tuzla University for a long time and got information about these departments. In these departments, Turkish teachers work alongside Bosnian teachers. Student can practice Turkish with native speakers. The problems encountered in every foreign language teaching are also encountered in this section. During the interview with the teachers we talked about encountered problems and we discussed the solutions. In recent years, teaching Turkish has also started in primary schools. In this project, Yunus Emre Enstitute has an important role. We had an interview with the president of Yunus Emre İnstitute and got information abot Yunus Emre Institute and its work.
