The United Kingdom's reformulation of foreign policy in the context of changes in outer space geopolitics at Brexit aftermath

This research examines the reformulation of the United Kingdom's foreign policy within the framework of changes in outer space geopolitics following Brexit. The Brexit process, which led to the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union, has resulted in significant changes in collaborations and investments in the space defense sector. The study investigates how post-Brexit investments in the space defense industry might create a transformation in foreign policy in a way that affects the United Kingdom's national interests. The literature on the field does not sufficiently address the potential space partners, rivalries and transformations in the United Kingdom's foreign policy at Brexit aftermath. In this context, discussions are important on the strategies for developing the UK's own space defense systems and international collaborations on space foreign policy. The research examines the impact of the UK's space defense industry efforts on foreign policy in the context of the European Union, the United States, Israel, Russia, India, and China, and analyzes them within an astropolitical framework. Additionally, the strategic importance of space defense industry investments is emphasized in terms of the UK's national interests. This study aims to fill a gap in the existing literature by providing an interdisciplinary perspective on international relations, defense policies, and space studies.
