Abstract (EN)

Bülent Parlak is a significant contributor to contemporary Turkish poetry. Through his works, spanning from the early 2000s to 2022, Parlak aims to enrich the emotional, intellectual, and ideological realms of his readers. His poetry articulates both individual and societal loneliness, as well as a sensory depth, reflecting innovative and experimental elements of modern Turkish poetry. Believing that literature, particularly poetry, can profoundly influence the emotional world of individuals, Parlak seeks to reach contemporary readers with a modern voice, crafting his works with this sensitivity in mind. He expresses social issues from an individual perspective, creating a unique poetic language where irony and criticism are as dominant as the emotional aspects. This study organizes Parlak's works in chronological order of publication. The poems are analyzed according to the method proposed by Şerif Aktaş in "Şiir Tahlili & Teori ve Uygulama," which suggests evaluating poems based on mentality, structure, theme, harmony, language, and style. The first section, titled "On Bülent Parlak's Life and Art," discusses the poet's life, his journey into poetry, his thoughts on poetry, certain aspects of his temperament, and his engagement in magazine publishing. The second section analyzes all poems from three of his poetry books, arranged chronologically by publication date, in terms of mentality, structure, theme, language and expression, and harmony. Additionally, a collection of essays is introduced in terms of content.
