Abstract (EN)
Turkish Republic founded on the basis of an exhausted and inadequate population because of the long-lasting battles implemented some policies with the aim of increasing the population in a short time. One of the ways of expediting the process of increasing the population was accepting immigrants. Turkey accepted immigrants from various countries based on some reasons such as the need for population and contribution to homeland security and economy. Between the years from 1923 to 1945 which was One-party State Period, one of the countries from where immigrants were accepted due to the policies was Bulgaria. The immigrants came to Turkey as a result of their own wishes, unlike Ottoman Empire era when immigrants had immigrated after battles lost. Thus, Turkey accepted these immigrants to the country in accordance with the immigrants and immigration policies. The events the immigrants experienced in Bulgaria had an impact on the reason they came. Turkey made laws to encourage the immigrants to immigrate to the country. Additionally, some help related to various things was provided to the immigrants. In this study, Turkey's immigrant policy between the years from 1923 to 1945 and immigration of Muslims living in Bulgaria to Turkey has been examined based on archives and the newspapers of that time.
