Abstract (EN)
Personnel attendance control system (PACS) is an information system that records the time of entry and exit of personnel into the work area, and enables to automatize shift, leave and authorization control. PACS is especially important in the sectors, where there are shift workers and hourly wage calculation is required. Traditional PACS operates in local network and are locality based, so that in the case of employees working in multiple branches, it does not allow all personnel to be controlled from a single center and therefore increases operational cost by requiring a separate system at each locality. In this dissertation, the hypothesis, which the central attendance control for multi-branch operators can be achieved and the system cost will be reduced by presenting PDKS as a service, has been put forward. The cloud-based PACS, which can be rented as a service, is designed and implemented with a unique approach, the infrastructure suitable for testing the hypothesis is prepared, and the hypothesis is tested and verified with the pilot region application. In addition to allowing an operator to centrally follow staff at different branches, the realized system also allows many businesses to receive services through a single PACS software. Consequently, PACS has proven to be able to benefit from the advantages of cloud computing, platform independence, instant updating and maintenance. In the designed system, the automatic identification devices are realized using Arduino microcontroller and RFID technology and the PACS software is developed based on object oriented programming principles over the web platform. Since the software runs on the web environment on the remote server, the communication between the terminal devices and the web software is achieved by TCP / IP protocol.
