Özet (EN)

The purpose of this study is to examine the perspectives of teachers working in the Tefenni district of Burdur on the concept of biodiversity. A case study design, one of the qualitative research models, was employed as the research method. The study included a total of nineteen teachers working in the Tefenni district of Burdur. In the process of selecting the study group, maximum variation sampling, one of the purposive sampling methods, was utilized. During the data collection process, a semi-structured interview form created by the researcher was used. This form included open-ended questions regarding teachers' views on the concept of biodiversity, the importance of biodiversity, the status of biodiversity in Turkey, measures for the conservation of biodiversity, and ways of acquiring knowledge about biodiversity. The data obtained in the study were analyzed using descriptive analysis. This research provides an in-depth evaluation of teachers' views on the concept of biodiversity under various themes. The findings indicate that teachers have diverse perspectives on biodiversity and related issues. While some teachers emphasize the importance of biodiversity for ecosystems, others highlight the social and ethical responsibilities concerning biodiversity conservation. In conclusion, teachers have significant responsibilities in terms of understanding the concept of biodiversity and raising awareness in society on this issue. The level of awareness among teachers can significantly influence the public's consciousness regarding biodiversity.
