Abstract (EN)

VI ABSTRACT In our study, basic concepts about office management and efficiency have been considered and the effect of ergonomy on office efficiency has been studied. Also offices functions, the factors effect on organization efficiency and the effects of physical environment on employees subjebts have been mentioned. An area study on the employees of the banks that prefer open office type has been performed. The effect of ergonomic structure on employees has been examined. Inqury studies was made in five banks on fiftytwo employees. As a result of this study, it has been concluded that the physical environment effects on the employees. Related to this effect efficiency increses or decreases. As the results of observatios, we can say that the emloyees are in very hard working conditions. Adding the problems about the physical environment, working performance becomes less and the efficiency decreases. The most common factors effect on the employees are; illumination, air conditioning, noise and office furniture. Preparing them in order to ergonomy principles will increase employees' performance. The weariness and stress forming in office conditions is harmful for the employees. The attention and efficiency of the employee who feels bad himself or herself will decrease. inconvenience in the bank departments occurs by the management foults. Inside design and formatting is entirely up to centeral decision. The decision of local management is not very efffectual. Also most of the banks are tenant on their buildings. This position makes the designing impossible. It must not be forgetted that the office employees are human being. Comfortable, healthy and peaceful conditions must be provided for them. So the efficiency will be increased and the goal will be reached.
