Abstract (EN)
Coastal cities have been preferred by people from the past to the present in terms of their potential. Businesses such as industry and tourism have accelerated migration to the coast. Taking into account the public interest in the coasts, filling activities have been carried out and the natural environment has been damaged to a great extent and the balance of natural life on the coasts has been changed. In addition, environmental pollution occurred in the seas with urbanization, industrialization and transportation. Integrated coastal studies, as well as countries in the world, Turkey also recently emerged among the study in this regard within the framework of international agreements in Turkey; efforts have been made to develop national strategy, to create legal legislation and to develop plans and projects related to the management of integrated coastal areas. In this study, coasts have been examined within the framework of the BKM approach. A general-to-private study was followed and examples of the RDA projects and studies of the countries were given. These samples were compared with Turkey with the policies of the coastal countries of the world. In particular, the use of coasts in the central district of Giresun, a typical coastal city of the Eastern Black Sea Region, is the subject of the study.
