Abstract (EN)
Since 2011, more than 5 million people of Middle Eastern origin have been living in our country officially. Although people in the Turkic Republics came to Turkey for various reasons in this process, most of them are Syrians. According to the official numbers their population ratio is 1/16 of Turkey's total population. Eventough, the majority of this population says that they are seeing Turkey as a bridge to reach Europe, the researches claim that most of them will stay in Turkey. Turkey, home to a refugee population of over 5 million, requires a well-planned, sustainable and predictable integration plan which also should be considered as a necessity of human rights rather than high population. This research tackles the issue of integration work carried out in Turkey, discusses the roles of social workers in this process, from the perspective of social workers. In this context, in-depth interviews were held with semi-structured interview technique with 9 social workers working with people who are victims of irregular migration or war. The titles created while evaluating the results obtained from the findings of the research; was created on the basis of human rights in the light of the values that form the core of social work discipline. In this context, some main themes and sub-themes have been identified. Education, economic possibilities / impossibilities have been determined as a rights-based approach in the integration progress. Under the discussion topic, besides the main theme, practical and theory-based concept comparison and adaptation-integration issues are discussed. In the light of the data obtained from the findings, a series of suggestions was created. Many basic issues have been addressed, such as; including people from legal procedures to the field of education, the language barrier, employment and planning policies, and suggestions for health and judicial system (such as participation in decision-making mechanisms).
