Abstract (EN)

There are many works waiting to be read in Ottoman libraries. Cafer Iyânî's Zübdetü'n-Nesâyih ve Umdetü't-Tevârîh also one of these works. The writer who has five works only three of them were studied, subject of these thesis and Nesâyihü'l-Mülûk have not been studied before. Based on the writer's other works, it has been determined that this work also worth studying. Also observed "Zübdetü'n-Nesâyih ve Umdetü't-Tevârîh" was Nesâyihü'l-Mülûk's expanded version. This work complied from twenty-three books in Turkish, Persian and Arabic, contains more than forty narratives. The work which bears characteristic of advice and politics, written for aim of providing people with moral and political lessons. In short, the writer aimed to benefit society. The methodology followed in the study is as follows: First information about the writer's life and works was gathered. Then, the two copies of the work found in Süleymaniye Library Nuruosmaniye Department and Topkapı Palace Museum was comparatively read. The characteristics of the copies, the verse sections within the text, content analysis, language and stylistic examination were conducted. the Verses and hadiths in text were indicated in the footnotes. Also, it was identified that four stories found I the writer's work "Tevârîh-i Cedîd-i Vilâyet-i Üngürüs" appear similarly in "Zübdetü'n-Nesâyih ve Umdetü't-Tevârîh" and comparations was made. As result, hit was seen the text is valuable from both historical and literary perspectives. It was identified as that there are nearly fourty verse section in work, which is written as a prose nasihatnâme. The Writer, who crafted both prose and verse parts in a plain language didn't neglect to include literary arts as well. Keywords: Advice, Cafer Iyânî, Jihad, Politics, Virtue.
