Özet (EN)

The change of the detective novel genre, which first entered Turkish literature in the form of translation and then copyright, in Turkish literature is a situation that needs to be watched. Detective novels and stories of Çağatay Yaşmut, who played a role in the recognition and development of the genre with his works in detective writing, also have an important place in the spread and development of this genre. This study was prepared to examine the works of Çağatay Yaşmut, who has an aim such as "to popularize Turkish detective literature", and to determine the contribution of these works to detective literature. The author has written six novels and two story books in total, and all of these written works are detective stories. In this study, which was prepared by using primary sources and texts as much as possible and many articles and interviews published in newspapers, magazines and internet publications about the author, all published novels of the author were introduced in detail and then the content and forms of his novels were examined. As a writer, Yaşmut likes to create fiction rather than describing people. While creating his novels, he creates fiction and characters that are not disconnected from real life. The author, who produces works whose perception of person, place and time overlaps with the world in which he lives, prefers a plain and simple style in narration.
