An evaluation on the position of chagatai Turkish among Turkic languages

In this study, the article whose title is ?Ça?atay Tili To?risidiki Karaşlirimiz? 1993) written by Mir Sultan Osmanov and Hemit Tömür, which was published in ?Şincañ Daşösi İlmiy Jurnili?, was dealt with and the relationship between Chagatai and Modern Uzbek Language together with New Uighur was evaluated in order to emphasize the place and importance of Chagatai among Turkish languages.In Turkology studies, Some Turkologists are in favor of the view that Chagatai forms the essence of Modern Uzbek Language and the language principles belong to Chagatai are protected in Modern Uzbek Language which takes place in our current languages. Besides, there is also another point of view claming that Cagatai is the basis of New Uighur and is protected in New Uighur. As a conclusion, the issue whether Chatagi or Uzbek Language is the heritor of Chatagi has not come to light in Turkology studies. In the article named ?Ça?atay Tili To?risidiki Karaşlirimiz? (1993) written by Hemit Tömür and Mir Sultan Osmanov, which is also the basis of this thesis study, the closeness of Chatagi with Modern Uzbek language and New Uighur is examined in detail. Then it is explained that Chatagi is the basis of New Uighur and Chatagi is currently protected in New Uighur by analysis based on the data including Phonetics, Morphology, Grammar and Lexicology. This topic, which has not come to light yet and is open to discuss, has reevaluated in this thesis study in terms of the article mentioned above. Finally, it has been come out that Chatagi is protected in New Uighur, which is our current language, by considering the basic principles, even though both of languages have got Chatagi functions.Keywords: Chagatai, Chagatai Turkic, Chagatai Language , Nevai?s Language, Middle Turkic, New Uighur Language, Uzbek Language.
