Ahl al- sunnah literature and evaluation in contemporary theological studies

Ahl al-Sunnah which is a concept that is difficult to understand without defining and explaining its sub-components is one of the most complex phenomenon in the field of the History of Islamic Sect. Ahl al-Sunnah is more than a sect which emerged in the early periods of Islam and shaped the religious understanding of societies. Ahl al-Sunnah, which has changed and transformed under the influence of many political, theological, social and cultural factors, contains different sects, cults and movements in the context of its theological, jurisprudential and mystical dimensions and its subcomponents in these dimensions. In this context, ahl al- Sunnah as a formation that exceeds the boundaries of the concept of sect, it is an inevitable outcame that usages that are not specific to a specific time, place or person have to address to the question of which Ahl al-Sunnah. It is very difficult to establish a framework and boundary for this concept, which has certain breaking points in the context of the process before and after Ash'ariyya- Māturīdiyya, when certain criteria are ignored. In our country, there are studies such as master's and doctoral theses, articles, communiques, journals and encyclopedia articles, books and book chapters about Ahl al-Sunnah as a school that is the subject of many academic and non-academic studies. In our research, it is aimed to identify, classify and these studies by considering certain issues, and then to describe and analyze the perception of Ahl al-Sunnah in terms of some variables.
