Abstract (EN)
In post-1960 contemporary painting, the figure regained importance with the return to nature, and this return, far from being a continuation of the old, started with new forms, techniques and narratives. This situation created significant changes and richness in the meaning and content of art; unlike modern art, which developed solely on aesthetics and limited narrative, contemporary artists gave new messages with the rich forms and narratives they attributed to the figure. In addition, developments in technology have played an important role in the change of art. Especially the ruptures that started with Pop Art in the early 1960s and the tendency of artists who emphasised globalism in the 1970s towards individualism enriched the subjects they dealt with; this showed that they were involved in the problems of society. In the art of painting, which was paved the way with concepts such as pluralism, pastiche and irony, they handled the figure in different contexts. The aim of this study is to reveal the new approaches seen in the return of the figure in contemporary art. In this context, Bay Are Painters, Pop Art, Photo-Realism, New Image, Neo_Expressionism, Postmodernism were analysed and analysed on the basis of important movements that contributed to the return of the figure after 1950. It has been observed that the new approaches seen in contemporary art are quite different from the approaches seen in modern art, that these new approaches expand the freedom areas of art, that all kinds of techniques contribute to art, that all kinds of materials are used freely, that art is integrated with technology, science and design, and that the new approaches seen in the figure further emphasise the figurative narrative and that the figure is strengthened in art.
