Abstract (EN)

Salafism is one of the most prominent sects in the history of Islamic thought. Salafiyya has undergone changes due to various political crosscurrents prevailing throughout various periods; with its historical roots, intellectual or ideological underpinnings coaxad with different approaches towards this movement have also emerged making its presence felt. However, the Ahl al Hadith tradition is concerned by Selefiyye, the importance given to hadith and sunnah continues today as was the case in the past. In this study we examined Salafiyyah within the context of our understanding of the tradition which is grounded in the founding ideology of the state in the case of Saudi Arabia, a country which has official denomination of Vahhâbism espoused on the state level. In the first part of this study, a general overview of Salafiyya, together with its emergence and stages were investigated. In the second section, the intellectual foundations and intellectual properties of Salafism in Saudi Arabia together with the idea of Salafism which has historical underpinnings have been discussed within the context of the basic ideas proping up its background. In the third and last part of the study, we tried to reach an adequate understanding of the traditions such us Salafism in Saudi Arabia in order for it to be examined in a scholarly perspective. Saudi Arabia type Salafiyyah view of the incident and Sunnah, deeds and their work on approaches to textual criticism, services and events are discussed in this section.
