Human-caused nature destruction in contemporary ceramic forms

Art is a mirror that reflects the culture, beliefs, philosophical and political worldview, social and environmental conditions of the period in which the artist lives. On the other hand, artists are people with special abilities who express their feelings and thoughts critically or supportively through emotional and aesthetic experiences. In this context, art, as in many other activities, is an important tool for expressing the relationship between nature and man. In particular, in recent years, contemporary artists dealing with environmental and ecology themes have wanted to raise public awareness by raising issues such as the sustainability of natural resources, pollution and the destruction of nature in the relationship between nature and man. In this dissertation research, after mentioning artistic reflections of the relationship between man and nature from a historical perspective, the relationship between nature in contemporary art and ceramic art is explained according to the literature. People who tried in ancient times to understand nature, on the one hand, benefited from this, and on the other hand, learned to respect it in the face of extraordinary forces that they could not overcome. The desire to gain more from nature, along with agricultural and industrial development, has led to the plunder of nature. The fact that the 20th century entered a period of struggle with environmental problems changed the way artists, like all people, view nature. Artists who sometimes internalize nature into their art sometimes become slaves to consumer culture. In recent years, the successive development of environmental disasters has placed the responsibility on artists to create an understanding of nature and the environment in their works. As a result, it was shown that human insensitivity to the environment in the relationship between man and nature through created works of art can lead to irreparable consequences in the future.
