Abstract (EN)
In this study, a holistic approach has been taken to Surah Abasa, examining Islam's fundamental moral teachings, as well as the inevitable end of humanity, the Day of Judgment (Qiyamah), and the Hereafter (Akhirah), from both religious and literary perspectives. The initial verses of the surah convey a universal message about the sensitivity of divine revelation and the value placed on human dignity, brought forth through a momentary action of the Prophet (PBUH). This passage strongly critiques the superficial values of the modern world by emphasizing that the propagation of faith should not be shaped by purely worldly standards and that spiritual truths are of paramount importance. In the later pages of the study, the focus shifts to the terrifying scenes of the Day of Judgment described in the surah. The metaphor of the "deafening cry" (es-Sakhkhah) depicts not just a physical destruction, but also a psychological trauma that will shake even the deepest emotional bonds of an individual. This striking portrayal, where everyone will be preoccupied with their own soul and worldly kinship will lose its meaning, reveals the transience of human life and ultimate responsibility. The light on the faces of believers and the darkness on the faces of disbelievers are presented as the manifestation of their beliefs and deeds in the world. This study analyzes the shocking effects and cosmic dimensions of this dreadful future on individual psychology by focusing on the surah's depictions of the Day of Judgment. Through the metaphor of "es-Sakhkhah," it is highlighted that the Day of Judgment will occur suddenly and irresistibly, painting a picture where the individual reckoning will take precedence even over family ties. Consequently, the different fates of believers and disbelievers reveal the ultimate consequences of choices made in this life. Surah Abasa begins with a divine warning and interprets the end of the universe with an impressive style that pushes the boundaries of our imagination. The surah not only appeals to individual consciences, offering an ethical compass, but also adds profound meaning to the human existential journey by instilling an awareness of the Day of Judgment. This study aims to examine the literary richness and theological depth of Surah Abasa. In this context, it presents a comprehensive perspective to the reader by addressing the relationship between the themes of revelation and the Day of Judgment.
