Abstract (EN)

The civilization history of societies isalsothe history of art. Art begins with the existence of man in the universe. When welook at the history of the world, it is seen that plastic art semergedwithcave paintings of primitive man. The cave paintings from the time of important civilizations in history such as Uighurs, Sumerians and Ancient Egyptian sprovethis. With the discoveryof the alphabet in China in B.C. 3000s, printing in Europe began in the contemporary sense in the 15thcentury. Later in theearly 20th century, painters developed techniques of engraving by carving patterns. The historical development of Contemporary Turkish Engraving Art from the beginning to the present has been examined. Engraving Art in Turkey began with Leopold Levyand Sabri Berkel in İstanbul State Fine Arts Academy .Later, Muammer Bakır, Nevzat Akoroland Mürşide İçmeli, Gazi Institute of Education took place today under the name of original printing techniques with Mustafa Aslıer of Istanbul School of Applied FineArtsand theartists they trained. After 1950, the art of engraving was used byartists who developed allover the world and wasaccepted as a branch of art. The aim of ourr esearch is Ahmet Ahmet Aydın Kaptan' simportance in contemporary Turkish engraving art, artist icapproach, the techniques he used in his works, thediversity of colors, the differences he broughtto theen graving technique, and the effects of his work to his contemporari esand present de.Described the history of engraving in Europe and in Turkey, there levant definitions in these condpart, it was mentioned in engraving techniques. In the thirdsection, the method sand techniquesused in there sear charede termined. In the fourthchapter, in thef inding sand commentarypart, Ahmet Aydın Kaptan, who is an artist and an academician in contemporary Turkish engraving art, has an approachto art, artist'sstance, uniquemethod in engraving, technique andoriginality in his works. In the last part, which is the fifthpart of the study, it is determined that the artist contributes to the development of this technique byusing multicolor and manyprinting techniques in Turkishengraving art. Inaddition, it has been realized that the vitalitybehind the pictorialelements is in thein tellectualstructure. Ahmet Aydin Captain'sengraving art, intro ducedandloved in the countryanda broadand in the development of this art in Turkey and thespread it wasseen as a majorcontributor.
