Abstract (EN)
This study deals with ?Printmaking and Painting in Modern Turkish Painting Art with regards to Interdisciplinary Approach?. The aim of the study is to explore the place of painting and printmaking in Turkish Modern Art and the interdisciplinary interactions observed in the field. To achieve the purposes of the study, the opinions of the artists who have provided works of art in painting and printmaking by using interdisciplinary approach regarding the following issues are provided in the study: the interdisciplinary interaction between painting and printmaking; the place and importance of printmaking in Turkish Art; the sample works of art created by using interdisciplinary approach. The design of the study is based on survey model and qualitative research methods. The data was collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed through content analysis method. The participants of the study are the following artists who produce works of art both in painting and printmaking in Turkey: Basri Erdem, Devrim Erbil, Ergin İnan, Fevzi Karakoç, Hayati Misman, Hasan Pekmezci, and Süleyman Saim Tekcan According to the results of the study, it is concluded that painting and printmaking are different in technical terms but similar in terms of valuation criteria. In addition, the interdisciplinary approach applied in the creation of art and interaction between painting and printmaking are found to provide the artists with opportunities to work collaboratively in terms of visual elements, techniques used and aesthetics. The richness of expression methods and other added values are still being exploited by today?s artists to a great extent. Key Words: Turkish Painting Art, Printmaking, Interdisciplinary
