Blood feud in jahiliyyah era and in the Islamic era until the death of Prophet

Evaluating the custom of blood feud with its different aspects in Pre-Islamic Jahiliyyah society and in the period until the death of the Prophet, in Islamic society, is formed the scope of this study. The custom was examined in many ways such as social life, politics, law, culture, religion and so on. The importance of the custom of blood feud in the formation and shaping of social structure with its institutions due to relation with the need of security, as well as the intense relationship with the fields such as law, politics, and trade were evaluated throughout the study. Although the custom is much more effective in the Jahiliyyah society it is possible to follow, and see its traces in the Islamic period as well. In the practice of the Prophet in Madinan society, we witness a special effort to end the conflicts whic occur due the custom of blood feud, and to prevent new ones from occurring. The approach to which developed for the custom of blood feud in the Islamic period did not differ in every aspect from the pre-Islamic period, but we see some critical differences have been developed. Although it is seen that blood feuds was completely intended to end in the Islamic period, it is observed that the custom continued to exist due to its strong roots.
