Abstract (EN)
Yemen, where many states were established in the pre-Islamic period, is of great importance for the accumulation of culture and civilization. Therefore, examining the developments in the region from Jahiliyya to the collapse of the Umayyads will make a significant contribution to the transfer of this accumulation. This region became a place where the population density was low until the end of the Umayyads because of the migration to the north during the period of Rasid Caliphs. For this reason, Yemen has become an easy region to manage. Political stability in the region has contributed greatly to the preservation of cultural heritage. In addition, Yemen is a remarkable region in terms of Islamic science and accumulation as well as developments in the field of history, hadith, commentary, fiqh and poetry, in which Abnâ played a major role. In Yemen, the Arab-Persian mixture called Abnâ played a critical role in the transfer of science and cultural heritage. Furthermore, with its dams, inscriptions, castles and palaces, this region is a place where cultural heritage is preserved and passed on from generation to generation. Agriculture, farming, mining, weaving, leatherwork and trade which are developed in this region is also an important economic centers for the state. In this study, it is aimed to reveal the importance of Yemen in terms of Islamic culture and civilization. Keywords: Jahiliya, Umayyad, Arab, Yemen, Demography, Economy, Science, Cultural Heritage, Abnâ
