Evaluation of the CALF Violin Education approach

It is aimed to determine the philosophical foundations of the Cihat Aşkın ve Little Friends (CALF) Violin Education Approach as well as to put forth a study that will contribute to both the education process in the CALF approach and the amateur instrument education in our country by way of developing and applying various evaluation tools. A mixed method making use of qualitative and quantitative methods was used in this "case study". Interviews were carried out with Cihat Aşkın and CALF teachers within the scope of the study, evaluation tools developed with support from experts following a literature survey were applied on students in CALF Classes at Afyonkarahisar, Beşiktaş, Manisa and Trabzon. As a result of this study data arranged according to sub-problems were processed, philosophical foundations of the CALF were determined and findings collected through evaluation tools were commented and suggestions were made. It is considered that the study will contribute to both Cihat Askin and Little Friends (CALF) and amateur music education and set an example for future studies.
