Calculation of insertion and extraction torques of dental implants with 5 MM and 8 MM sizes in D2 and D4 types of bones, conduction of resonance frequency analyses and comparison of their primary stability values

Abstract (EN)

Nowaday dental implants are the most effective method in the treatment of dental deficiences in patients. One of the most effective importance of dental implants are not to damage other teeth by prostheticly and restoratively and pretend like natural teeth during function. Primer stabilization and osteointegration are the most important factors of the success of dental implants treatments. Todays short dental implants are used for sustaining patient cooperation avoiding from high costs and no need for secondary surgical procedures. The aim of this study is comparison of the insertion and extraction torque values and primer stabilization by using resonance frequency analysis between 5 mm and 8 mm length dental implants at the polyurethane bone blocks (PCF 05 and PCF 20, #1522-23, #1522-03 :Sawbones, Malmo, Sweden) which pretend like D2 and D4 bone type. Totally 40 dental implants (DeTECH; Turkey) are used for this study. 20 of them are used for D2 bone type and the others are used for D4 bone type. We applied 10 implants which lenghts are 5 mm and 10 implants which lenghts are 8 mm at D2 bone type. Same procedures are used for D4 bone type. All of these implants have same diameter. According to result of our study 5 mm and 8 mm dental implants at D2 bone type have similar ISQ, insertion and extraction torque values. The values at 8 mm dental implants significantly increased. All of the values at D4 bone type decreased and the values were not significant. At the result, 8 mm dental implants with same diameter are more reilable than 5 mm dental implants. According to statististical data, 5 mm dental implants can be available and alternative for augmentation teqnique at mandible posterior region but, at the maxilla posterior region it is not reliable.
