Abstract (EN)

Today's ever-changing competitive and challenging business environment has made it imperative for employees to do more than just fulfill their responsibilities. The concept of "being proactive", which means high performance, solving anticipated problems and creating opportunities, has become important in work that goes beyond the job description. For this reason, it has become a necessity for organizational employees to take initiative and bring their proactive personality structures to the forefront by exhibiting proactive behavior. Job crafting behavior, which has become increasingly important in recent years, is seen as a form of proactive behavior that leads to important results for both organizations and employees. Job crafting is also a process related to the physical and cognitive changes that employees make in their tasks or in the relational boundaries of their work. Therefore, the concepts of "proactive personality" and "job crafting" are two important behaviors in the field of management in terms of keeping up with changing conditions. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between employees' proactive personality traits and job crafting and to examine the role of demographic variables in predicting proactive personality and job crafting levels. The data of this crosssectional and descriptive study were obtained by face-to-face survey technique from 176 administrative personnel working at Munzur University in Tunceli province, using convenience sampling method. Since the data obtained from the parametric point of view did not show normal distribution, the significance levels in the comparisons between the groups were realized with Mann Whitney U Test for variables with two options and Kruskal Wallis H Test for variables with more than two options. Pearson Correlation analysis was used to determine the relationship between the variables. The data obtained within the scope of the research were subjected to analysis through IBM SPSS 26.0 statistical program. Participants' perceptions of proactive personality and job crafting were found to be above average. The findings reveal that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between the perceptions of proactive personality of administrative staff and job crafting and its sub-dimensions (task crafting, cognitive crafting and relational crafting). It has also been found that the proactive personality perceptions of administrative personnel vary significantly according to the administrative unit they work in, and their job crafting perceptions vary according to age, the administrative unit they work in, and the total length of service.
