Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, it is aimed to evaluate the increasing glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) wastes. The present study mainly has four stages consisting of: comparison between MCDM )multi criteria decision making methods for GFRP wastes; application of the most appropriate method on sample waste, obtaining a new product by process side products; physical properties testing of the product derived from the waste. In the first stage of the study, mechanical recycling, incineration, pyrolysis and chemical recycling alternatives for GRP wastes were compared with Analytic Network Process which was one of the MCDM method and pyrolysis was found to be the most convenient method for GRP waste. GRP waste was subjected to pyrolysis at 400, 500 and 600 ° C and characterization of the products were studied. Glass fiber was obtained from solid products formed as a result of pyrolysis and new GRP products were obtained by hand lay up method. Tensile strength tests were applied to these products, additionally it was found that glass fiber, which was formed as a result of pyrolysis, increased the tensile strength of polyester resin nearly 43%.
