Abstract (EN)

In this study, different cities (İstanbul, Trabzon, İzmir, Adana, Niğde, Malatya, Mardin) from seven different geographical regions of Turkey were selected and the technical, economic and environmental evaluation of rooftop solar power plants planned to be established in these cities were analysed. Location-specific data (solar radiation, temperature, etc.) were analysed and PVsyst software was used in the analyses. The aim of the study is to analyse the solar energy potential in Turkey, especially in terms of rooftop solar power plants and to reveal the applicability of these systems in various aspects. The feasibility of the plants considered in the study is detailed throughout the country. In line with the data obtained within the scope of the thesis study, it has been concluded that if rooftop solar power plants are widely used throughout Turkey, they can make significant contributions to the economic development of the country. It has been seen that these plants have a great potential in terms of energy production, environmental sustainability and economic benefits, and it is predicted that when this potential is utilized correctly, it can make significant contributions to the energy independence and sustainable development of the country.
