Abstract (EN)

Ill ABSTRACT The aim of organizations is to meet the need of people. On the other hand the aim of management is to direct the organization sources and knowladge, skills and experiences of employees. While reaching this aims, the human should be taken in the first place and the variability of people's needs shouldn't be forgetten. It is inevitable for an organization, for which evaluation is the needs and variability of people, to remain out of changing. Organizational conflicts comprimise the variation and development dynamism in organizations. Conflicts, which are seen in organizations often and prevent from reaching organizational purposes are important in terms of management. The Police Organization, which serves to all society, can not remain out of management of conflict. In this study, the purpose is to learn what is the level of the conflicts in the police organizations and which strategies have been used by the police managers. The survey has been done on 296 people who selected with simple random sampling, work in Afyon Police Department. In the calmination of the survey in Afyon Police Department, conflicts are seen at the level of individual, intergroup and intragroups and police managers are using the strategy of problem solving. If it is conceded that conflicts are so important for the development of the organization and also inevitable then it is supposed to approach to the coflicts in a concious and scientific way. And that is possible with exclusively education and making the police managers concious about conflict management.
