Çavdarhisar dialect and vocabulary

Language, which is a means of mutual understanding between people, has an important place in terms of reflecting feelings and thoughts. All of the living languages in the world have their own rules. In addition, the most important feature of language is that it has a constantly developing and changing structure. The fact that the language used in any community takes on forms of expression and structures specific to that community is an important proof of the change and development stages of language. As a result of these phases of change and development, subunits called dialects and subdialect were formed. Thus, researching how a society uses a language will help to reveal the distinctive features of that society's language. In this respect, dialect research was conducted in Çavdarhisar and its region and distinctive features were tried to be revealed. The sample of study consists of Çavdarhisar district of Kütahya and its twelwe villages. The villages were selected according to their distance from the central district and population structure. The analysis in the research is based on thirteen texts audio-recorder through one-on-one interviews with people in these villages. In the text compilations, it was paid attention that the source persons interviewed were middle-aged and elderly citizens who preserved the dialectal features of the region. The compiled texts were transferred to phonetic writing based on the translation writing system. In the introduction section of the study, the subject, purpose, scope, method and index are explained. In the first chapter, the historical and cultural characteristics of Çavdarhisar district are mentioned. In the second chapter, phonological features of Çavdarhisar dialect are analyzed. In the third capter, morphological features of Çavdarhisar dialect are discussed. In the fourth chapter, the vocabulary features of Çavdarhisar dialect are analyzed and their evidences are presented. In the fifth chapter, text compilations of Çavdarhisar and its region are transcribed. In addition, an index of common names, proper names and place names is added at the end of the study, and the words and suffixes that hve undergone changes in Çavdarhisar dialect are indicated.
