At the present time, many researches and studies are carried out on the use of different building materials together with the developing building technology. Concrete and steel are used together in composite structures. It is possible to come across structures with composite elements, generally in high-rise buildings. There are many examples of structures with composite elements in the world. At the same time, the importance and use of structures with composite elements are increasing day by day. In this thesis study, information about composite elements and the calculation rules in the AISC (American Institute of Steel Construction) regulation are explained. The advantages and disadvantages of composite elements are mentioned. First of all, the design of the three-storey steel structure was carried out using the ETABS program. Afterwards, the most stressed columns under the effects of axial load and moment were determined. A program was developed with the help of coding to find equivalent suitable composite column sections in Delphi program . After the determination of the equivalent composite columns, the design of the three-storey composite column structure was carried out with the ETABS program. The same process was carried out for the design of six-storey, nine-storey and fifteen-storey steel column and composite column structures, respectively. Each designed steel column and composite column structure were compared among themselves in terms of floor displacements, total weight of the structure and base shear forces. The cost calculation was made by taking into account the carrier beams and Columns, which constitute a large part of the cost in nine and fifteen storey buildings, and a Comparison was made. The results obtained after these comparisons are given in the conclusion section.
