Abstract (EN)

In this study, the social criticism in the stories of Celil Memmedkuluzade and Sabahattin Ali, who are important representatives of Azerbaijani and Turkish literature, were analyzed comparatively. At the beginning of the study, the concept of social criticism was difened. The place of this concept in Azerbaijani and Turkish literature has been explained. Afterwards, brief information was given about Celil Memmedkuluzade's and Sabahattin Ali's life stories, their writing life and their works. After these briefings were made, the concept of social criticism in Celil Memmedkuluzade's and Sabahattin Ali's stories was written under the headings of worker-employer relationship, class conflict, agha-peasant relationship, intellectual-peasant relationship, social problems of peasants, state-public relations and peasants' judicial problems. As a result of this study, the ways in which both authors deal with social criticism issues in their stories were revealed in a comparative manner, whereby similarities and differences of the stories were examined.
