Abstract (EN)

Vertical structuring has increased rapidly due to the increase in land costs in construction works. Parallel to the vertical construction, the need to work at height has arisen. When the occupational accidents occurring in the construction industry are examined, it is seen that the occupational accidents that occur as a result of working at height and in the form of falling off from a height have a high rate. The accidents that occur in the form of falls from the floor-platform edges and falls from the scaffold are at the top when the types of accidents are examined and detailed under the heading of human falling from a height. Therefore, necessary conditions must be provided for working at height in order to create a suitable environment in terms of occupational health and safety. All equipment, including facade scaffolding, must comply with the standards specified in the legislation. Certification on compliance is carried out by TSE. In this study, prepared in the light of this information, facade scaffolding in accordance with the standards and the works carried out at height on them were examined in terms of occupational health and safety, and evaluations were made in this direction. The order of subject and explanation within the scope of the study is as follows. Occupational accidents in the construction industry are examined after giving the main information about occupational health and safety; then working at height and related issues are discussed in detail. In the content of the concept of working at height; The definitions of height and fall have been made, the equipment that carries the person while ascending has been emphasized, and detailed information about the scaffolds, which is the main subject of our study, is also given under this title. On the other hand, the protective equipment used in working at heights was emphasized as the other topic. In order to examine the facade scaffoldings used within the scope of construction works and the works carried out at height on them in terms of occupational health and safety, investigations were made in four working areas belonging to different projects in different locations and the possible hazards were examined and the risks that may arise from these activities were determined. The findings are stated under three main headings controls related to employees, controls related to occupational health and safety organization, and controls related to equipment. It is seen that only some parts of the scaffolding platforms are deficient when the scaffold components are subjected to examination. In addition, it is seen that the other scaffolding components are fully compatible. In terms of occupational health and safety organization, it is observed that there are deficiencies of information in earthing, the safety of employees around the scaffold, and the maximum load that the scaffolds can carry. It has been observed that the work is not carried out in accordance with the safety principles, even if it is rare when the controls related to the employees are made. In addition, although it is rarely seen, there may be deficiencies in the issues of scaffold inspections by a competent person and the preparation of a control report on the work carried out. Although the authorized person has been identified, it can be seen that controls are not carried out when necessary. Evaluations were made as a result of field studies and literature reviews. Recommendations were made regarding the preventive measures that could be applied.
