Abstract (EN)

SUMMARYMobbing is aggressive and violent behaviours experienced between workers for a period of time in workplace. Experts claim that mobbing behaviours in workplace creates negative effects both on nurses and patient care quality.This descriptive study is conducted to understand the situation of mobbing experience among nurses where working in surgical departments and examine the effects of mobbing on the motivations of nurses. The research data have been obtained nurses working in hospitals, university and government (n= 80 ) in Afyon.A guestionnaire is used the data collection instrument. The survey questionnaire has tree part. The first part for demographic characteristics ?Nurse İnformation Form?, the second part ? Mobbing behavior in the workplace Dilek and Aytolan?s Scale ? , the third part ? Motivation Scale?. In order to analyse the data collected, the SPSS 18.0 statistical programme is used.According to the test results, there isn?t a significant relation between age, marital status, educational status, institution, experience, department and mobbing behaviors. Examined in terms of exposure to mobbing behaviors, ?providing unfounded rumors about the special with your life ? and ? humiliating and degrading of others to speak with your next? negative wiew of the high level of specified. According to our study, there is a significant relation between mobbing behaviors in the workplace and nurses? levels of motivation. İncreases mobbing behaviors in the workplace decreases nurses? motivation.Key Words : nurse, mobbing , motivation
