Abstract (EN)

The Relation Between Preoperative Anxiety and Complications at Postoperative Period in Surgical Patients This researc aimes to investigate the relation between preoperative anxiety and possible complications at postoperative period in the patients at surgical wards of Afyon Kocatepe University Ahmet Necdet Sezer Hospital. This study was planned as suplementary study. Totally 150 patients were included in the study, 52 of them operated for hernia, 38 of them operated for thyroid diseases and 60 of them operated for cholelithiasis. Socio-demographic characteristics were collected and anxiety level of patients were measured by Stait-Trait Anxiety Inventory. Available data coded and transferred to SPSS program. Pearson Khi-square, student t-test, varians analysis were performed for statistical analysis. In conclusion; postoperative complications the patients who are admitted to surgery department for elective operations, could be related to preoperative anxiety.
