Abstract (EN)

The sectarian identities of the commentators, mostly shaped by the period they lived in and their scientific journeys, are reflected in their interpretations of the verses of al- aḥkām. This study focuses on how Abū Bakr al-Jaṣṣāṣ, who lived in the IV/X century, and al-Ṭūsī, who lived in the last half of the century and the beginning of the V/XI century, interpreted the verses of al-aḥkām in their works al-Aḥkām al-Qurʾān and al-Tibyān fī tafsīr al-Qurʾān respectively. In this manner, before proceeding with the interpretations of both commentators, information will be given about their lives and scientific journeys, especially the period they lived in, to better comprehend our commentators. In addition, al-Aḥkām al-Qurʾān and al-Tibyān commentaries, which are the main sources of our study, will be introduced in general terms. After giving information about the commentators and their interpretations, it is aimed to give a comparative ground to the interpretations of the verses by the commentators. In this context, al-Aḥkām al-Qurʾān and al-Tibyān commentaries are examined in detail and the text analysis method is used in the study. In this study, which deals with whether sectarian identity is effective in the interpretation of the verses of aḥkām, the interpretations in the beforementioned commentaries are evaluated. As a result of these evaluations, it is seen that sectarian identity has a decisive effect on the interpretation of the verses of aḥkām in general Ahl al-Sunnah and Shīʿa, particularly for al-Jaṣṣāṣ and al-Ṭūsī. Keywords: al-Jaṣṣāṣ, al-Ṭūsī, al-Aḥkām al-Qurʾān, al-Tibyān, al-Aḥkām Verses
