Abstract (EN)

This study offers a comprehensive analysis of the relationship between translation studies and philosophy of science. It investigates the evolution of translation studies from a scientifically philosophical perspective, emphasizing the historical background and highlighting the role of scientific views in shaping the field. The study also sheds light on the influence of researchers and schools of thought in developing modern translation studies over the past seven decades. The thesis proposes an integrated philosophy of science approach as an alternative methodology for translation studies. This approach addresses both the scientific and philosophical dimensions of translation studies based on the views of four philosophers of science. The present study provides an overview of the theories of translation studies, examines the methodology of an integrated philosophy of science, and argues that a holistic approach should be adopted to reach a more comprehensive understanding of translation studies. The thesis concludes that the scientific progress of translation studies can be explained through an integrated methodology of the philosophy of science. Moreover, it recognizes that external and internal factors have influenced the evolution of modern translation studies. Applying the methodology of integrated philosophy of science can help translation studies achieve a pluralistic understanding from a more holistic perspective. Overall, this study provides a valuable contribution to translation studies by offering a new methodology emphasizing the role of scientific and philosophical dimensions in shaping the field and highlighting the importance of a holistic approach to understanding translation studies. Keywords: The integrated methodology of philosophy of science, modern translation studies, philosophy of science, philosophy of translation studies, history of translation studies
