Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, the usability of alternative energy in the transportation sector is examined in terms of environmental problems. The aim of this thesis is to show those environmental problems can be reduced in case of the availability of alternative energy sources in the transportation sector. During the researches and studies; It has been seen that conventional energy sources used in transportation systems cause approximately 107.5 million tons of CO2 emissions annually. The share of electric motor and hybrid vehicles, which are the most rapidly developing alternative energy sources that can be used in place of the conventional energy sources used in transportation systems in our country, currently does not exceed 1%. The widespread use of electric motor and hybrid vehicles, which have great potential in reducing CO2 emissions from transportation systems, has been demonstrated to lead to a reduction in CO2 emission by emission comparison by fuel types. The effect of electric vehicles with a 100 % zero emission value on the CO2 emission values of which energy source was obtained has been determined and the positive effects of CO2 emission reductions on environmental problems, which will occur if electricity production from fossil fuels is provided by alternative energy sources, are presented. Keywords: Transportation, alternative, electric motor, CO2, hybrid, gasoline, diesel, LPG, automobile.
