Effectes of environmental uncertainity on resource dependence: A research on hotel businesses

Özet (EN)

Resource Dependence Theory, one of the macro–organizational theories, examines the possible asymmetric power relations results of the formation of interorganizational relationships based on resource dependence. Organizations are constantly influenced by the environment in which they operate. In such a case, due to excessive competition, organizations are obliged to rethink their strategic activities owing to changing environmental factors. In this study; three, four and five star hotel general managers or senior executives were interwieved using the CATI system and was obtained a total of 543 healty data. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS for Windows 21.0. The research results obtained under the hypothesis is as follows: • It was concluded that environmental uncertainity increases the tendency to manage the resource dependency and the main reasons for the increase are the "goverment and politics" and "technology and innovation". • It was concluded that environmental uncertainity increases the perceived resource dependency and the main reasons for the increase are "goverment and politics" and "technology and innovation". • It was found that environmental uncertainity increases the structural resource dependency and the main reasons for the increase are "goverment and politics", "product market and demand" and also "technology and innovation".
