Abstract (EN)

It can be seen that the dazzling developments of technology and the digital games that are seen as an entertainment tool in today's life, will be incomplete. With nearly a billion dollars of economy, digital games are creating and expanding their sector. In this context, electronic sports (e-sports) is becoming an important organization both for the players and the game sector. The fact that electronic sports activities are considered as a new career opportunity and that daily life is dedicated to the game in this context increases the risks of game addiction that the World Health Organization draws attention to. This study was carried out with the aim of understanding the situation between e-sport phenomenon which is seen as a new career opportunity and technology addiction and contributing to the developing literature on this subject. In this study, the social context of developing technology, the change of generations against developing technology, the characteristics of digital culture, the ontology of the game concept, the history of digital games and game addiction have been discussed. In Turkey it indicated that three million players every day and e-sports game League of Legends is synonymous with the selected sampling 1375 people formed online game addiction scale of the player, the polling techniques were applied. According to this, it is seen that as daily average playing time increases and the level of education decreases, game addiction increases. When the age variance of the participants is changed, it is seen that the increase in game addiction increases. Participants in international tournaments seem to be more dependent than those who did not participate in any tournament.
