Campus flora after a quarter of a century: Eskişehir Osmangazi University plant biodiversity

Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to identify and document the flora of Eskişehir Osmangazi University Meşelik Campus. Classical flora study methods has been used in identifying plant specimens collected during fieldwork. The results of fieldwork conducted from March to November in 2022 and 2023 revealed 60 families, 204 genera and 310 species and subspecific taxa in the research area. Among these taxa, 14 species belong to Gymnosperms, and 296 species belong to Angiosperms. Of the identified taxa, 26 are of Iran-Turan, 17 of Europe-Siberia, 15 of Mediterranean elements, and 252 taxa are widely distributed or species with unknown regions. 8 taxa in the research area are endemic, and the endemism rate for the region is 2.58%.
