Abstract (EN)

In this study, which we conducted to examine the relationship between the lifesatisfaction and psychological resilience of convicts and detainees staying in penal institutions, according to their sports activities, and the psychological resilience of convicts and detainees in penal institutions who do and do not do sports It was considered to examine the relationship between life satisfaction, personality, intelligence and emotional intelligence characteristics, and in this direction, our main goal was to determine the psychological state of detained individuals through sports. In our study was examined that the psychological resilience and life satisfaction levels of convicts and detainees according to their sports activities and variables related to the demographic characteristics of convicts and detainees. Out of a total of 250 participants convicts and detainees staying in Elazığ E Type Closed Penal Institution, 194 sports and 54 non-sports participated in the study.Among the participants in this study, the average age of those who did sports was ±34, while the average age of those who did not do sports was ±38.When the demographic data is examined, 41 (75.9%) of the individuals participating who do sports in the research are primary school graduates , 61 (83.6%) are secondary school graduate, 79 (76.0%) are high school graduates. And 12 (65.7) of whom were undergraduate convicts and detainees. Of the convicts and detainees who participated in the research and did not do sports, 13 (24.1%) were primary school graduates, 12 (16.4%) were secondary school graduates and 25 (24.0%) were high school graduates, 6 (33.3%) were convicts and detainees who had undergraduate degrees.When the relationship between the life satisfaction and psychological resilience levels of prisoners and convicts who do and do not do sports in the penal Institution was examined, no statistical difference was determined between the convicts and prisoners who do sports and the convicts and prisoners who do not do sports (p = 0.27).It has been determined that the attitudes of convicts towards sport activities vary significantly according to variables such as age, education level, family, environment, and sports activities. In our study, it can be said for the penal institution that there is no significant interaction between the sports activity levels of the detainees and convicts staying in the penal institution and the adult life satisfaction scale and adult psychological resilience scale.
