Abstract (EN)

Intellectuals are the most important cultural and intellectual element of society. It is they who guide him to the right path, explain the wrong and give him a solution when there is a crisis. In other words, the Enlightened for society are like water for people, they always need it, they die without it. In this context, enlightenment is not the same in every society, each society has its own enlightenment. Features of the Algerian enlightenment discourse began to emerge at the stage of struggle in Algerian national history. The Algerian enlightenment movement, whose beginning can be identified during the leadership of the prince Abdulkadir (1808-1883), the founder of the Algerian state, reached very important ideas that deserve appreciation. The efforts of Algerian intellectuals have contributed much to preventing many attempts to create negative change in Algerian society and to distance it from its religion, identity and origin. In addition, Algerian intellectuals brought new ideas about religion and society. Based on this, this study, which we named "Algerian Intellectua's Conception of Religion and Society", has come to discuss their ideas and get to know them closely. Our research focuses on highlighting the most important attitudes of the ten most prominent Algerian intellectuals of the twentieth century on the most important issues of religion and Algerian society. Keywords: Algeria, Intellectual, Religion, Society.
