Abstract (EN)

People?s Republic of China, that was set up on 1st October 1949, having carried on its development at a closed out economic structure until the end of 1970?s. In 1980 years, quick economic growth and development process have been started in the country with ?open-door? policies which were initiated to be entegrated with international system. In 1992 China adapted the intellect of ?Socialist Market Economy? and thus started to follow international trade based foreign policies. People?s Republic of China has became an important global actor with successful reforms and the membership of World Trade Organization in 2001. China can be seen as a huge target market and opportunity for exporter countries with the high growth rates realized as the years, high population and developing economy. On the other hand, People?s Republic of China with competitive advantage against importer countries, that provides thanks to factors as low wages, government incentives and high foreign direct investments, has became a threat for domestic markets especially in developing country economies.The commercial and economic relations between China and Turkey desired level is not yet. The biggest problem in terms of Turkey is rapidly increasing ?trade balance deficit? against China since 1990 years. In this work, will be mentioned China?s economic development process and place in world trade, trade relationship with Turkey, and effects on Turkey?s economy. Moreover, solution suggestions will be proposed for getting rid of Turkey?s foreign trade gap with China and for contacting long term and balanced economic relations between two country and mentioned the measures to be taken for Turkey?s economic relations with China.
