Abstract (EN)
Micro-credit is defined as small-scale personal loans; intended for poor people, especially women, who are unable to find a job or who want to establish their own businesses. This type of loans encourages new investments and enables women to establish their own businesses, in order to resolve the problem of income equality between sexes, transforming them from consumer into producer. In our study; Bilecik province has been used as the sample in order to put forth an answer to the question, whether micro-credit brings out a solution to income equality between sexes or not. A survey has been carried out on 250 of 691 women, who have used micro-credit. The survey questions have given the opportunity to review both economically and socially.According to the survey results; the lives of these women who have established new businesses or have financed the existing ones, have been divided into two as before and after micro-credit. The annihilation of the gap, in terms of income, between men and women; has been the greatest benefit provided by micro-credit. The women who have gained financial freedom or have increased their present income; have begun to have a say on household spending and eluding the hierarchical layout of sexes they have switched to a democratic layout. In addition; these women who have proved that the inequality in terms of social life has come to an end by beginning to leave the domestic life behind and unite with the outer world, have recommended their counterparts to use micro-credit.
